Our History

Early 1900s

Alluvial tin and tantalum mining occurs at Tabba Tabba, Western Australia.

1980s

Pancontinental Mining Ltd holds Tabba Tabba as part of its tantalum portfolio, alongside Pilgangoora (now held by PLS Group), Wodgina (now held by Mineral Resources Ltd) and Greenbushes [NWR1.1](now held by Talison Lithium – a JV between Tianqi Lithium Energy Australia and Albemarle Corporation).

1990s-2000s

Various feasibility studies and minor tribute mining, including by Sons of Gwalia, occurred during this period.

2007

Project purchased by Resource Capital Funds and transferred to Global Advanced Metals (GAM); exploration focused on tantalum with most samples not assayed for lithium.

2015

Trial mining conducted at Tabba Tabba by PLS in a 50/50 JV under a five-year mining and offtake agreement with GAM but was later abandoned.

2016-2019

Tantalum mine and infrastructure were rehabilitated and GAM retained ownership.

May 2023

Wildcat enters a binding, conditional agreement to acquire 100% of the Tabba Tabba Lithium-Tantalum Project from GAM.

July 2023

Wildcat begins maiden drilling at Tabba Tabba.

September 2023

Wildcat announces a major lithium discovery from first assays, including standout intercepts such as 85m at 1.5% Li2O.

October 2023

Conditions precedent for the Tabba Tabba Sale Agreement are satisfied, completing the acquisition process.

February 2024

Wildcat commences building blocks for a Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS) for Tabba Tabba, such as metallurgy, geotechnical and environmental baseline studies.

November 2024

Wildcat delivers a maiden Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) of 74.1Mt @ 1.0% Li₂O.

July 2025

Wildcat releases a full PFS for Tabba Tabba, confirming its strong economic and technical potential as a standalone hard rock lithium development project, and commences a Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS).

August 2026

Wildcat makes a new lithium discovery at Bolt Cutter Central, just 10km from Tabba Tabba, which is defined as a stacked pegmatite system that extends 2.3km x 800m and remains open.

2026

Wildcat is on track to deliver a DFS for Tabba Tabba this year.
